UWED hosted a meeting with the delegation from Baku State University
On December 25, 2024, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) hosted a delegation from Baku State University (BSU) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijan delegation was represented by the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation - H. Mammadov, the Vice-Rector for Social Affairs, Student Affairs, and Public Relations - A. Agamirzayev, the Advisor to the Rector for Financial and Administrative Affairs - M. Mirzayev, and the Head of the Center for Organization and Management of the Educational Process - E. Mammadov.
The UWED was represented by the Vice Rector for Science and Innovation - G.Ismailova, the First Vice Rector for youth issues and spiritual and educational affairs - O. Yusupdjanov, the Dean of the International Relations school - Sh.Arapov, the Dean of the International Economics and Management school - M. Khamdamov, the Head of the Chair of Uzbek and Russian Languages - M. Abdurakhmanova and the Head of the International Academic Cooperation Office- G. Mirkhalilova.
The meeting was organized with the aim of expanding bilateral academic cooperation and identifying new areas of interaction, such as the possibility of implementing double degree programs, organizing student and faculty mobility, conducting guest lectures and master classes, as well as promoting Uzbek and Azerbaijani cultures in universities.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the prospects of conducting joint research in the fields of sustainable development, regional processes, publishing scientific papers, and participating in grant projects.
In turn, UWED proposed establishing close contacts between the student communities of both sides to deepen cooperation, exchange knowledge and experience, as well as develop cultural and educational ties.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to work out in detail the implementation of the discussed areas of cooperation. A mutual intention was confirmed to define specific steps aimed at developing Uzbek-Azerbaijani academic relations, including organizing joint educational programs, holding scientific conferences, and facilitating student and faculty exchanges. These measures will contribute to strengthening mutual ties in education and science, as well as expanding opportunities for cooperation in other areas.
