A presentation of a book prepared jointly by scientists from Uzbekistan and India was held at UWED
On October 23 this year, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a presentation of the book "India-Uzbekistan Perspectives on Connectivity between South and Central Asia".
It was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to our country Smita Pant, experts and authors of the book from India, the management and faculty of UWED and the Diplomatic Academy, as well as students and doctoral students.
The book was published in Uzbek, English and Russian by the Diplomatic Academy of UWED and the India - Central Asia Foundation.
The event was opened with a welcoming speech by First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Akram Umarov. He noted that historical and cultural ties between India and Uzbekistan contribute to the growth of bilateral cooperation.
According to him, the joint publication of scientists from the two countries focuses on topics that are becoming increasingly relevant in the modern world, covering history, politics, economics, investment, security and culture. And the main thing is that such research will contribute to regional peace and security in Central and South Asia.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan Smita Pant in her speech noted with satisfaction the high dynamics of Uzbek-Indian cooperation in various fields. She highly appreciated the work of authors from Uzbekistan and India in preparing the aforementioned book. The Indian Ambassador emphasized that joint cooperation of scientists from the two countries will contribute to the development of bilateral ties, opening up new horizons for cooperation.
The presentation was attended by Prof. Abdusamat Khaidarov, Director of the Diplomatic Academy of UWED, Dr. Ramakant Dwivedi, Director of the India-Central Asia Foundation (ICAF) and Prof. Anil Sharma, Member of the Governing Council of ICAF, who is one of the authors of the book. They emphasized that the book reflects political, economic, cultural and security cooperation between India and Uzbekistan.
According to the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the UWED Diplomatic Academy and the India-Central Asia Foundation.
