On March 28 of this year, a meeting took place at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy between the faculty and students with the Chairman of the National Republican Senate Committee of the US Congress, Steven Daines.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of UWED Sodyq Safoev, welcoming the high-ranking American parliamentarian, emphasized the importance of his visit, indicating the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

In turn, S. Daines emphasized that Uzbek-American relations have great prospects. He supported the initiative to establish cooperation between UWED and the University of Montana and other educational institutions, as well as welcomed the opening of the Center for American Studies at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

Senator S. Daines provided detailed answers to the students’ questions of interest. In conclusion, he expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he received during his stay in Uzbekistan.
