    From January 22 to 23, 2024, a delegation from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), led by the First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Durbek Amanov, participated in a joint Uzbek-Chinese educational forum.

     During this event, meetings were also held between representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of our country and the Ministry of Education of the PRC.

    In total, about 250 people participated in the forum, including rectors from Uzbekistan and major Chinese universities.

     At the beginning of the event, a meeting was held between the first deputy minister of higher education, science and innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Komiljon Karimov, and the deputy minister of education of China, Chen Jie.

    The sides discussed prospective issues of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of science, technology, and education in light of the state visit of the head of our state to the PRC.

    The forum consisted of panel sessions in the following areas:

    -Exact sciences;

    -Engineering;

    -Agriculture;

    -ICT;

    -Humanities;

    -Medicine and Pharmacy.

    As part of the event, the UWED delegation held separate meetings with representatives of higher education institutions such as the “University of International Business and Economics”, “Beijing Foreign Studies University”, as well as companies “China Ouyu Huatong company” and “Huawei Technologies Co.”, with the latter of which an agreement was signed to open a showroom.

    In general, as a result of the Uzbek-Chinese educational forum, 70 bilateral documents were signed between higher education institutions of the two countries, and agreements were reached with 5 universities on the organization of joint educational programs.

    The agreements reached provide an opportunity for more than 300 of our students to receive quality education at leading Chinese universities. Also, agreements were reached on the organization of grant programs for more than 100 Uzbek students.

    As a result of the event, the Beijing Declaration on cooperation between Uzbek and Chinese Higher educational institutions was adopted. The document provides for the creation of an institutional platform between higher education institutions of the two countries, the formation of a model of Chinese-Central Asian educational cooperation, as well as the further development of academic exchange programs, the implementation of joint scientific and innovative projects.
