The UWED hosted a lecture by the famous American scientist Frederick Starr
The University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a lecture by the founding Chairman of the Central Asia and Caucasus Institute (CACI) at the US Foreign Policy Council, Professor Frederick Starr.
Introducing him to the audience, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the UWED Sodyq Safoev noted the great interest of the famous American scientist in Uzbekistan and long-standing cooperation with him.
Professor F. Starr devoted his lecture at the UWED to the problems of global sustainable development and the special role of Uzbekistan in strengthening regional cooperation.
He highly appreciated the large-scale reforms being carried out at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the direction towards building a legal, secular, democratic and social state.
He also emphasized that thanks to the efforts of the head of Uzbekistan, the necessary consensus has formed in the region in promoting mutually beneficial cooperation and good neighborliness, in which all parties are interested.
“This opens up great prospects for the dynamic development of the region and it playing a significant role in the international arena,” the expert noted.
F. Starr drew attention to the importance of Uzbekistan’s further political and economic activity in the international arena.
