The UWED Model of UN was organized with the participation of students from more than 15 different universities of Uzbekistan.
The conference was held at The University of world economy and diplomacy in May 3-4, 2016. It is attended by 181 students from different universities all over Uzbekistan.
At Model UN conferences, students participate in simulations of United Nations sessions, debating, negotiating, caucusing, drafting, and voting on resolutions that address world problems.
Students represented different countries of committees:
General Assembly 1st Committee, General Assembly 2nd Committee, The Economic and Social Council and Security Council.
The conference began on Tuesday, May 3, with opening speech of the UN Resident Coordinator Stefan Priesner and the rector of UWED Djumanov Abdumalik Abduvaxobovich.
From Tuesday morning through the late afternoon, students met in their committees, where they debated world issues and interacted with UM faculty and graduate students who are experts on the topics before each committee.
Individual, country, and school awards were announced during the closing ceremonies on Wednesday.
